Does anyone use the "heel/toe" method for the bass drum? This is the same method for the hi-hat...The musicality of this technique is greater as is the way it fits in the pocket. I'm sure everyone has seen the Dave Weckl back to basics video where he explains his slide toe method...to me the heel/toe is much more precise and easier to learn technique...how do you guys feel?
Also, the heel/toe technique is used by Steve Gadd (i.e.the "Big Army" prelude to his groove on the Buddy Rich video)...that is a sick groovin sound!
